It’s so easy to focus on what’s not great in our lives, isn’t it? Somehow the less-than-wonderful stuff seems to demand the most attention, to take up the most space.
Now, I don’t know how you feel about this, but I tend to think it’s well worth while taking the time, when we can, to shift focus for a little while, to home in on what’s wonderful, beautiful, joyful in our lives.
A bit like…
I take close-up photographs of flowers. I love to fill the lens with the subject matter, get really close in so that I can’t see anything else. I don’t let what’s beside it, behind it, above it, below it, interfere.
Yes, a bit like that!

What a beautiful image, Jan. And what a simple but effective strategy for overcoming the doldrums, negativity and also any other ego-induced inward-looking stuff. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this…it speaks very clearly to where I am at the moment.
Rachel, thank you for responding so warmly to my post, and the pic. As you know it means a huge amount when someone is sufficiently touched by one’s words to respond, to let us know.
