Ending is part of my new beginning

by Jan on October 18, 2009

It’s galling, isn’t it, when you’re mad keen to get on with something, but the stuff you have to sort out before you can holds you back? I’m at that stage now. I have my new blog raring to go. Ok, no nice graphics yet, and frankly zilch in the way of content, but it’s my new home and I want to move into it.

Trouble is, before I can I must, you know, pack up all the old stuff and throw out the things I don’t need. I’m busy making lists, securely wrapping precious items. Meanwhile of course, I’m spending as much time as I dare popping over to the new home, measuring it up, fitting a few bells and whistles, considering colour schemes. You know how it is.

Ends and beginnings tend to segue into each other. I know I’ll be glad when the move is over, but there’s a way to go and I may as well enjoy the process.

One thing I’m really enjoying is looking through old blog posts and picking out a few I’ll rework for the new site. To carry on with the ‘moving house’ metaphor, it’s like going through all the boxes in the attic and coming across objets d’art which just need a bit of spit and polish and they’ll look great in the new sitting room.
