Ask the question, then change your life

by Jan on September 23, 2009

‘Coaches never give advice’ I was taught when I trained. Well, I’m going to forget about that completely for a a moment. I have some advice for you, and it’s unequivocal. It is:

Question, challenge, everything; dispute the status quo. Question the inevitability of the way you live your life. Ask, ‘why is it like this’?’.

Maybe what you’ll question is a belief in your own head, maybe you’re just acting out cultural norms which are, in truth, fluid and which vary from household to household, let alone town to town, country to country. Whatever it is, there’s almost certainly another way, a way that is your own. Question, challenge, then follow the path which is right for YOU!

Thank you so much, Jayne! Though I must stress that the photo with this article isn’t one of mine – it is by Thomas Bower – and I found the image on Flickr. But most on the site are mine, and I SO appreciate your kind words. I have two cameras, a Canon 400D DSLR, with which I use a range of lenses, in particular a Tamron SP AF Di 90mm Macro lens for flower pics. I also have a Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is great to keep in my bag, a lot of recent shots use that, including some lovely flower pics. I’ve managed to capture some nice portraits with that, too. Bless you, Jayne. :)
